Leu - M1 positive Brukitt type Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia -A Case Report-

Abstract

|
|
The immunophenotype of acute leukemia, especially lymphoid lineage, is very
important because of its different response to chemotherapy and prognosis. So the use
of immunophenotyping in acute leukemia has been increased in number and the
boundary of its clinical application has been enlarged.
Recently, some authors demonstrated that the presence of myeloid antigen in adult
acute lymphoblastic leukemia, especially B-cell lineage, was associated with bad
prognosis. But Burkitt type acute lymphoblastic leukemia with myeloid antigen is very
rare.
We experienced a case of adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia showing similar
morphology of Burkitt lymphoma, and unusual immunophenotyping result including
positive reaction to Leu - Ml.
